Cazorla and its surroundings

One of the most outstanding attractions of the Natural Park is the sighting of wild fauna. The visitor can easily enjoy deer, fallow deer, mouflon, mountain goats, wild boar or birds of prey.

The source of the most important river in Andalusia occurs in an area of great ecological value within the Natural Park, in the municipality of Quesada.

The place where it is born is located in the Cañada de las Fuentes, at 1,350 meters above sea level. It is a natural area of great beauty and geological importance. His official birth has been placed under a plaque that reproduces a poem by the Álvarez Quintero brothers. But, strictly speaking, the sources of the Guadalquivir are found in the spacious hollow of the Cañada de las Fuentes.

An obligatory stop is the Collado del Almendral Hunting Park, a place where you can see many species of animals such as deer, fallow deer or mouflon that are in semi-freedom from a tourist train. They also have other activities such as bird of prey sightings or a pleasant walk through the botanical garden.
